A Beta Fish/Human hybrid pet for a roleolay that was way better than it had any right to be (LOL). In this world, Hybrid Pets are a common idea, but only the absurdly wealthy can afford them. Later on down the line they become cheaper and more available, but in the timeframe Jin exists, they are still quite exclusive.

Because of this, i tried making his human features less ... human. I had a hard time with the eye, originally going with the more realistic black you find with fish, but it didn't translate well. The other hard part was how it took 36 hrs to draw every single individual scale one at a time by hand.

RIP right arm.

I swear i am never drawing another scale fish again(Until i forget the trauma and become ambitious LOL).

Jin is not a particular type of Beta fish, something of a feather-tail half-moon with elements of Rose-tail. He's just a giant pretty fish. The colour was chosen by amino members of another group who voted for Gold and amethyst.

Jin from head to hip is about 3 ft tall, from hips to tail end (not counting fin) he is about 9.5 ft long. The tail itself is between 4-5 ft long and about 8 ft wide. I have been asked why i make fish tails so long.... because they are prettier that way.
